Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the GeoLocker app (“GeoLocker,” the “App”) and this website. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Licence
GeoLocker grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, or create derivative works of the App except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
2. On-Device Only; No Accounts
GeoLocker stores all of your content on your device. We operate no accounts, no servers, and no cloud storage for your vault data, and we cannot access, view, restore, reset, or transmit your content. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
3. No Data Recovery — Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for remembering your credentials and for keeping any backups you require. GeoLocker’s security model deliberately prevents us from helping you regain access.
4. Security — What GeoLocker Does and Does Not Promise
GeoLocker is a tool to help you protect information, not a guarantee of secrecy in every circumstance. We aim to describe its protections honestly, including their limits:
- The location requirement for biometric vaults is enforced in software and can be defeated by a determined attacker (for example, by location spoofing); it is not a cryptographic guarantee.
- Resistance to guessing a hidden vault’s passphrase is bounded by the chosen key-derivation cost; a weak or guessable passphrase or location reduces protection.
- Biometrics can be compelled in some situations, and the jailbreak/tamper check is advisory only.
- No software can protect data on a compromised, jailbroken, or physically-controlled device, or against lawful compulsion in your jurisdiction. Deniability features are technical measures and are not legal advice or a legal shield.
You are responsible for assessing whether the App is suitable for your situation and risk profile.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use GeoLocker only for lawful purposes and only with content you have the right to store. You are solely responsible for the content you place in your vaults and for your compliance with all laws that apply to you, including any laws requiring disclosure of keys or data. You must not use the App to store or facilitate anything unlawful.
6. Purchases
GeoLocker is free, and all security and deniability features are free. The only optional purchase is a one-time “Supporter” tip, which unlocks a cosmetic badge and nothing else. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms; we do not process payments. Refunds, where available, are handled by Apple. Customers who previously bought earlier paid features retain their access at no further cost.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, this website, and their content — including software, text, graphics, logos, and the name “GeoLocker” / “Geo Locker” — are owned by Ambor or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. These Terms grant you no rights in them except the limited licence above. Your vault content remains entirely yours; we claim no rights to it and never receive it.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and website are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, security, or that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will prevent unauthorised access in all circumstances.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambor will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, loss of access to data, or loss of profits, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App or website, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including certain rights you may have under consumer-protection laws such as the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Apple App Store Terms
These Terms are between you and Ambor only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where these Terms and Apple’s standard EULA conflict regarding your use of the App, Apple’s standard EULA governs to the extent of the conflict.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, in an App update. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent through our contact page.
Remember: GeoLocker is built so that only you can open your vaults. That is the point — and it is also why there is no recovery. Choose your passphrases and locations carefully.
